O Holy Night Collection by Lilypad Lacquer (Beauty So Fly’s Exclusive)

oholynight

Hi everyone! Christmas is just around the corner and have you decked your house with Christmas decors, bought your Christmas presents and making a food and drink list for the party? Many who knows me knows that Christmas is one of my favourite holiday! There is a lot to be rejoice and happy about even if you are not a Christian; the food, drinks, presents and most importantly spending quality time with the family!

Today I am very excited to be back with a blog post on a Christmas carol inspired theme – O Holy Night by Lilypad Lacquer exclusively available at Beauty So Fly. It contains two cool shades for those who prefer a winter feel and two warmer shades for those who need to feel the Christmas warm.

Angels Sing is a sweet cornflower blue holo with gold micro flakies. The consistency is slightly thicker than the rest of the collection and there was also a slight unevenness but it will even out once you applied the topcoat. I must add that I had a mini bottle for sample swatch so that could be the reason for the less than perfect end result. Having said that it applied easily. I used 3 coats for the photos.angelssingangelssing1angelssing2angelssing5angelssing4

Let me start by mentioning the biggest disclaimer on the next shade, Glorious Day, it is total pain in the ass to capture the colour correctly on any camera and every photos that I took of this turned out differently. But it is a gorgeous soft greyish lilac holo accented beautifully with copper fakies. The consistency is perfect and applied smoothly. My photos just do not justify the gorgeousness of this colour and I’m actually surprise this works against my skin tone, in real life that is. I used 3 coats for the photos.gloriousday3gloriousday2gloriousdaygloriousday1

Kingdom Reign is what I called a perfect Christmas tree green shade. It is a very flattering emerald green holo swimming with green shimmers and micro flakies. I couldn’t wish for a better consistency and it is so saturated that it applied smoothly in 2 coats.kingdomreignkingdomreign1kingdomreign3kingdomreign2

I saved the best for last and can I just start off by saying I gasped when I saw the bottle. Royal Birth is a gorgeous vampy oxblood red accented with scattered rainbow holo and flakies. The jelly consistency is top notch and applied smoothly! And oh this totally reminds me of Christmas fruitcake! I just cannot stop staring at my nails when I had it on as it is so sparkly! I used 3 coats for the photos.royalbirthroyalbirth1royalbirth3royalbirth2royalbirth4

This collection is very well executed with choices of cooler and warmer shades to choose from. If the wallet allows I’d say get the whole collection but if you have to choose Royal Birth is the obvious choice. This is such a breath taking shade not to be missed and totally an apt shade for the festive season. And hey oxblood shade is all the rave this year isn’t it?

This collection will be launching exclusively at Beauty So Fly on 14 December 2015 at 9:30PM SGT retailing at SGD$18 per bottle or $65 as a set. Set your alarm!

Sparkly Moo & Molly Moo by Moo Moo Signatures

mollysparklymoo

Happy weekend everyone!

Today I am featuring two new colours from Moo Moo Signatures – Sparkly Moo and Molly Moo. The inspiration behind these two colours derived from Mei Mei’s other obsession of needle felting.

Sparkly Moo is inspired and named after Moo Moo Sparkly (see pic of MMS here). Sparkly Moo is a gorgeous concoction of plum holo base accented with gold, red, blue holo iridescent glitters and purple flakies. The consistency was superb with strong holo effect and application was heavenly smooth. I only needed two coats for full opacity.sparklymoosparklymoo(1)sparklymoo(2)sparklymoo(5)sparklymoo(3)sparklymoo(4)

Molly Moo is inspired and named after Moo Moo Molly (see pic of MMS here). Molly Moo is a unique mix of grey holo with sterling silver and gunmetal flakies, silver ultra holo glitters and flakies. The consistency was a tiny bit thick which is understandable considering so much magical ingredients were mixed inside. But it certainly did not hinder the application process. The holo effect is a little more muted as compared to Sparkly Moo which is pretty normal for a grey holo. I used three coats for the photos.mollymoomollymoo(1)mollymoo(4)mollymoo(2)mollymoo(3)mollymoo(5)mollymoo(6)

Mei Mei again hit the ball out of the park with these two new creations! The colour, the mix, the consistency and not forgetting the inspiration behind these two colours are much to be raved about! I love both of them but if I have to pick and since I normally have a penchant for plum colours I’d pick Sparkly Moo!

You can purchase Moo Moo Signatures’ polishes (Big 3 Free) or grab yourself a cute Moo over HERE.

Don’t forget to follow Moo Moo Signatures’ Facebook and Moo Moo Signatures’ Instagram for any updates!

Diamond & Once In A Blue Moo by Moo Moo Signatures

onceinabluemoo(2)

Hi everyone! It is a long weekend over here in Singapore as we are celebrating our 50th year of independence!

Today I am very excited to share with you a new to me brand by Moo Moo Signatures though I am not unfamiliar with its creator. She is none other than the owner of Mei Mei Signatures.

Other than being a stockist for a wide range of indie polish brands she actually has a full time job and now she has ventured in to needle felting and making her own brand of polishes! And not forgetting she has a life outside of all those mayhem too! Sometimes I suspect she is not a human but actually a supersonic machine. I simply cannot comprehend how she does all that. I started buying nail polishes from her when I started my addiction a few years ago and she has the most impeccable customer service which I have mentioned a couple of times before! Through all that I have been fortunate to become great friends with her!

Let’s move on to the pretty stuff shall we?

Diamond which I have on my ring fingernail is described as an ultra strong silver holographic polish accented with sterling silver micro silver flakies and small amount of tiny green and red flakies. Application was a cinch and covered my nail beautifully in two coats. I don’t usually buy silver holographic polish these days as there are just too many variations out there but this is just so sparkly and flattering on the nails! I added the blue star studs to amp up the look more. I do have to apologies that I did not manage to capture it as beautifully as it actually is.

Next we have Once In A Blue Moo that just took my breath away! It is an insanely gorgeous blurple (blue & purple mix) crelly base with colour shifting tiny purple and green flakies. It was a very saturated, opaque and a dream to apply. This was said to be a one coater but it is rare that a polish could be one coater on my big nail bed. The only advise I would give is to apply less strokes on the same area to avoid dragging and creating bald spots as it dried pretty fast. No fault on its formula at all but just a better technic to apply this. I used two coats with topcoat on the rest of my fingernails. Btw this looks great without topcoat too creating a suede like effect.onceinabluemoo(5)onceinabluemoo(4)onceinabluemooonceinabluemoo(6)onceinabluemoo(1)onceinabluemoo(7)onceinabluemoo(3)onceinabluemoo(8)

Mei Mei knows what she is doing and she does it with perfection on these. I absolutely love both of them but Once In A Blue Moo just took my breath away a million times more! Great job my dear friend!

Mei Mei told me that the current version of Diamond has gone in to remission but a new rendition is coming soon! So do look out for that as I am sure it will be just as gorgeous!

You can purchase Moo Moo Signatures’ polishes (Big 3 Free) and if you are in to needle felting don’t forget to check out her Moo Moo too (they are cute as a button!) over HERE.

Chocolate Obsession by Liquid Sky Lacquer

Hi polish world! I am sure everyone has their personal favourite type of finish for a nail polish, for me I dig holographic polishes. I fancy holographic polishes in any form; linear, scattered, multi chrome or infused with flakies. I just love seeing how the holographic effect dance with spectrum of colours under different lightings.

Now we are so used to seeing the usual shades of holographic polishes but I get really excited when I chance upon a unique or an unusual shade like Chocolate Obsession by Liquid Sky Lacquer. As the name self explained it is a saturated chocolate brown shade with medium holographic effect. This was a cinch to apply and felt kinda buttery if you know what I mean. I only needed 2 coats with a coat of topcoat for my photos.chocolateobsessionchocolateobsession(1)chocolateobsession(2)chocolateobsession(3)chocolateobsession(4)chocolateobsession(5)chocolateobsession(6)

As I have mentioned before that I am usually not a brown shade girl but I totally dig this. The name is so apt on this and made my nails looked like I was coated with real chocolate! Very yummilicious worthy!

I purchased my bottle of Chocolate Obsession from Mei Mei Signatures or you can check out Liquid Sky Lacquer’s online store HERE.

New Messiah by Dance Legend

Good day everyone! It’s been a while since I last blogged as i’ve been busy with a couple of things and just couldn’t find the time to squeeze out a blog post. Most of my weekends of late have been spent doing the mandate household chores since we have ceased having a help around the house. And honestly household chores just aren’t my forte. Also I finally took the plunge and switched from a Windows to an iMac! It is like learning ABC all over again. I am still trying to get the hang of it and so far loving my new toy! So this blog post is my first post from the iMac!

Today I have for you New Messiah from Dance Legend New Prism collection. It is a gold base with strong holographic effect. The formula is excellent, application was fuss free and dried really fast. I always reach for a Dance Legend’s holo polish whenever I need a quick and easy manicure. I used two coats with a coat of topcoat for my photos.

You Down With P&P? Ya You Know Me by Pretty & Polished

Howdy everyone! Today I have an oldie colour which might have the longest name ever to show you – You Down With P&P? Ya You Know Me by Pretty & Polished. Quite a mouthful!

You Down With P&P? Ya You Know Me is a charcoal grey jelly base accented with blue, green and turquoise hex glitters. Application was a breeze but was slightly on the sheer side so you might need at least 3 coats for full opacity. I had 3 coats and a coat of topcoat on.you down with p&p ya you know meyou down with p&p ya you know me(1)you down with p&p ya you know me(3)you down with p&p ya you know me(2)

Though I would have preferred it to be less sheer, I like how it looked on my nails. Therefore this is a love for me!

As this is an oldie, it has since been discontinued. You can still check out many great creations from Pretty & Polished over at her store HERE or international stockist like Mei Mei Signatures.

I Got The Axe by Elevation Polish

Hello everyone! It is finally mid week and it seemed that the week has been crawling along so slowly. How about a swatch to spice things up? Here goes…

Today I have for you I Got The Axe by Elevation Polish from the Tools of the Trade collection, inspired by Lulu’s (the creator)favourite tools.

I Got The Axe was mentioned that it is a mix of green melon and lime. In my opinion it is like a yellowish green bordering on mustard creme base with subtle shimmer. Formula is a little on the thick side but did not deter the application. You are seeing 2 coats with topcoat.i got the axe by elevation polish(1)i got the axe by elevation polish(4)i got the axe by elevation polishi got the axe by elevation polish(5)i got the axe by elevation polish(2)i got the axe by elevation polish(3)

A unique at the same time unusual colour to own but I like it anyway.

Elevation Polish restocks every 7th and 22nd of the month at 9PM (CST) and 9AM (CST) respectively.

Bird Of Paradise by Glam Polish

Good Sunday everyone! How is everyone?

Today I have for you Bird Of Paradise by Glam Polish from the Nature’s Beauty trio collection for your pleasure viewing.

Bird of Paradise is a bright green jelly base with array of coloured glitters. There are just too many different colours of glitters that I couldn’t name all of them out. Application was easy and what is also great about is it didn’t drag and dried pretty smooth for a glitter bomb. However it did show some visible nail line if you are not going to coat at least 3 layers. For full opacity on my nails I had to use 4 coats. 2 layers of topcoat were added.bird of paradise by glam polishbird of paradise by glam polish(1)bird of paradise by glam polish(3)bird of paradise by glam polish(2)

Most glitter bomb polishes tend to have application issue but I really love that this applied so easily and beautifully. I would however attempt to use it over a matching base the next time.

Bird Of Paradise is still available over at Mei Mei Signatures or you may hunt it down from any of these international stockist near you.

Good Evening Clarice & Money by Different Dimension

Hello March! It’s March already??!

I was through my stash hoping to use some of the unused old colours and to my dismay I found a few of them have changed colour. I don’t expect any indie polishes or the mainstream polishes for that matter to last forever. After all they are chemicals. I blame myself for not using them soon. I noticed that neon and purple hues tend to be the ones that change colour.

Today I am going to show you two old colours that fortunately remain gorgeously intact in its original state – Money and Good Evening Clarice by Different Dimension. I decided to pair them together in this swatch as they complimented each other very well.

Good Evening Clarice (thumb, index and pinkie) from the 2013 Halloween Silence Of The Lamb collection is a pale minty green with scattered holo and the best part is it glows in the dark! Formula was a little sheer than I preferred and kind of uneven. It glows prominently in green in the dark. I used 3 coats with topcoat.

Money (middle and ring) from the Echoes collection is a white crelly base heavily loaded with gold, yellow, neon green hex and squares glitters and also my favourite large round glitters in blue, silver and black. Formula was a little sheer and you can spot some visible nail line at 3 coats. Application was easy and no fishing required. Two layers of topcoat were added.money by different dimension

I am a little disappointed with GEC’s formula but at least the strong gitd effect made it forgivable. Money was what I expected of; very pretty to look at.

As both of these were limited edition and have since been discontinued. Sorry to tease you all.

Different Dimension is available at Big Cartel, Mei Mei Signatures, and Rainbow Connection to name a few.

Time To Pretend by Enchanted Polish

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been missing around here. I just came back from a wonderful honeymoon in Japan. I wished that I could turn back the time and be there again but have to face the reality, right?

In conjunction with the restock of the Time To Pretend collection by Enchanted Polish over at Mei Mei Signatures tomorrow night I am going to show you swatches of Time To Pretend. This collection has six colours but due to a chip on my middle nail on the swatch hand I can only show you Time To Pretend in fear of aggrevating the chip further.

Time To Pretend is multichrome with strong linear holo in a jelly base. In my light box it shifted more to purple and blue, the copper and red came to life in low lightings and my favourite shift would be in the sun as it shifted to a darker purple and blue with the linear holo in your face. The formula is what we expected of from Enchanted Polish, excellent and easy to apply.

The last two photos were shot with flash and in the sun on my Iphone 6 plus respectively. I used 3 coats with topcoat for the photos.time to pretend by enchanted polishtime to pretend by enchanted polish(1)time to pretend by enchanted polish(2)time to pretendtime to pretend by enchanted polish(3)time to pretend by enchanted polish(5)time to pretend by enchanted polish(4)time to pretend by enchanted polish(6)time to pretend by enchanted polish(7)

Now you all already know how hard it is to score almost any colour from Enchanted Polish especially when it is too pretty like Time To Pretend. So good luck to any of you trying to score this from tomorrow’s restock over at Mei Mei Signatures Mei Mei Signatures Bigcartel at 6PM (Singapore time).

Good luck!
