Shades of Singapore Collection by Lilypad Lacquer

Hi everyone! Today I am very excited to share with you swatches of a new Lilypad Lacquer collection dear to my heart as it is inspired from my homeland Singapore

These 6 colours collection, Beauty So Fly consists of 6 scattered holographic in wide spectrum of shades. I’ll sum up the formula here as most of them have the same consistency unless stated otherwise. They have great if not flawless formula, super opaque and dried fast. The holo effects are subtly pretty and most of them dried to a semi matte so top coat are definitely unavoidable. They are sufficient to cover the nails in 2 coats and 1 coat of topcoat.

*Warning* This post is going to be pictures heavy and possibly wordy.

Singapore Skyline is inspired by our skyline of course! Over the last few years Singapore’s skyline definitely have underwent a makeover. Singapore is a tiny island with limited (or maybe none) natural beauty but I am proud of what we have made it to become today. Anyway, Singapore Skyline is one of my favourite of this collection; it is a gorgeous indigo scattered holo base with abundance of copper flecks. The copper flecks are easily visible in all lightings and it is what makes this colour so sparkly, gorgeous and unique!singapore skyline by lilypad lacquersingapore skyline by lilypad lacquer(1)singapore skyline by lilypad lacquer(2)singapore skyline by lilypad lacquer(3)singapore skyline by lilypad lacquer(5)With flashsingapore skyline by lilypad lacquer(6)

National Beauty’s inspiration is based on our national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, an orchid hybrid. You can read more about our national flower here. National Beauty is an eye catching violet shade with purple shimmers. This somehow has a thicker consistency than the rest but nowhere near problematic to apply. This is not a usual colour I would reach for but nonetheless pretty. I couldn’t capture the colour accurately for this so I used my Iphone 5 for the following photos.national beauty by lilypad lacquernational beauty by lilypad lacquer(4)national beauty by lilypad lacquer(3)national beauty by lilypad lacquer(2)national beauty by lilypad lacquer(1)

Clean And Green. Singapore has been moving towards being a clean and green country. We are definitely clean (if you have been here you’d know what I mean) but not too sure if we have reached the satisfying green level. We are getting there for sure. Clean And Green is a lime green holo with subtle pink shimmers. Unfortunately I couldn’t capture the pink shimmers in the photos. A very cheerful colour that I would wear often and hey it’s a green! The pink shimmers seem to come alive on low light.clean and green by lilypad lacquerclean and green by lilypad lacquer(1)clean and green by lilypad lacquer(4)clean and green by lilypad lacquer(5)clean and green by lilypad lacquer(2)With flash.clean and green by lilypad lacquer(6)

Durian Dreamin’ is inspired by the tropical fruit, Durian, widely popular in Singapore and many parts of Asia. It is not a fruit for the faint hearted; the smell and taste can be very pungent and awful to some yet delicious to many. I belong to the former. Durian Dreamin’ is a deep mossy green with gold flecks and shimmers. This is a colour that has me written all over it.durian dreamin by lilypad lacquerdurian dreamin by lilypad lacquer(1)durian dreamin by lilypad lacquer(4)durian dreamin by lilypad lacquer(3)durian dreamin by lilypad lacquer(2)With flash.durian dreamin by lilypad lacquer(6)

Chilli Crab, a dish commonly eaten amongst many consist of crabs cooked with starchy chilli sauce and eggs. It is best paired with fried bread bun dipped in to the fiery sauce and no utensils needed; dig in with hands! This is a fiery red with orange undertone and white gold flecks. A colour that is very flattering against my skin tone.chilli crab by lilypad lacquerchilli crab by lilypad lacquer(2)chilli crab by lilypad lacquer(4)chilli crab by lilypad lacquer(1)chilli crab by lilypad lacquer(3)With flash.chilli crab by lilypad lacquer(5)

I saved the best for the last, Summer Never Ends. Singapore has four seasons, hot, hotter, hottest and overheated! Haha. There is no four seasons in Singapore of course; it is whole year round summer. We are the typical tropical country where you either get a lot of sun or it pours heavily. Summer Never Ends is a breathtaking neon coral with ample gold flecks and shimmers. Consistency is so great and self-levelling that I didn’t mind the faint holo effect. It actually looked brighter in real life than on my photos as my camera were freaked out by its bright neon colour. This will definitly suit any kind of skintones!summer never ends by lilypad lacquer(1)summer never ends by lilypad lacquer(2)summer never ends by lilypad lacquer(3)summer never ends by lilypad lacquer(4)summer never ends by lilypad lacquer(6)summer never ends by lilypad lacquer(5)summer never ends by lilypad lacquerWith flash.summer never ends by lilypad lacquer(7)

Overall this is a very well executed collection but my heart goes to the uniqueness of Singapore Skyline for the copper flecks against the indigo holo base and Summer Never Ends which is an unexpected mad love for me; it is so bright, flattering and cheerful! Summer Never Ends is going in to my All Time Favourites list!

Ok phew there you have it, sorry I took so long to put this out. I am a little anal and wanted this to be a great post. So if you have stick around till now thank you and hope you have enjoyed this post.

You can buy this collection exclusively at Beauty So Fly at SGD$18 each bottle.

Spring Dreaming Collection by Mckfresh Nail Attire

Today I am going to show you more Mckfresh Nail Attire polishes. I have 4 out of the 7 colours from the Spring Dreaming Collection. Not so much of a chatter today so I will just let the pictures do the talking.

First up, Lakeside Sunset. It is a pretty lavender purple with pink shimmers. The shimmers glow more visible under sunlight. Consistency was great and it applied well in 2 to 3 coats. Photos showing 2 coats with topcoat.lakesidesunsetlakesidesunset1lakesidesunset2lakesidesunset3

First Light is a neon orangey coral jelly. This reminds me of carrots! Formula was perfection and opaque in 3 coats. As neon is notorious for freaking out the camera, I had to adjust the settings to get it to show correctly on photos. It is no surprise that I love this! firstlightfirstlight1firstlight2

Splice Of Life is a vanilla creme with gold pinkish shimmers. Sadly I couldn’t get the shimmer to show on my photos but it is really pretty under the sun. As you may have guessed it this required at least 3 coats to get it even but for a pale creme the formula is great.spliceoflifespliceoflife1spliceoflife2

Lastly, Go Back To Sleep. A white creme base with black square, rectangular, rhombus hex glitters, white bar, hex, round and square glitters. There is a lot going on but I had no issue with application. This reminds me a lot of cookie and cream ice cream. The photos showing 2 coats with topcoat. gobacktosleepgobacktosleep1gobacktosleep2

There are many reasons why I have grown fonder of Mckfresh Nail Attire. To name a few, the colours are pretty, great formula and I love the wider brush (ala OPI pro wide) which leaves me with minimum clean up.

Mckfresh Nail Attire is available through Etsy or Mei Mei Signatures.

Coral-A-Glow-Glow By Polish Addict Nail Color

I have for you today yet another Mei Mei Signatures’ exclusive shade, Coral-A-Glow-Glow by Polish Addict Nail Color. A really fun glow in the dark coral jelly base with white and pink hex glitters. Formula was quite sheer and this is not meant to wear on its own. Glitters distribution was even. The glow was strong but you do need to charge it under a fluorescent lamp to get the glow to appear. I coated three coats over two coats of OPI Alpine Snow and a coat of topcoat. Gosh that’s six coats on my nails! coralaglowglow4coralaglowglowcoralaglowglow1coralaglowglow2coralaglowglow3

I think this is a really fun polish but I wished that it could be a little more opaque so that I don’t have to use so many coats of polishes on my nails.

Coral-A-Glow-Glow retails exclusively at Mei Mei Signatures for SGD$16. This was sent to me by Mei Mei Signatures for my honest review.

Comfortably Numb By Different Dimension

I have been spending the last couple of days trying to organise my nail polish drawers (again I know) and listing it down on a spreadsheet on my computer which I should have completed a few weeks ago. Man, I must say it is not easy! Being a little OCD at times I had wanted to organise them in my Muji drawers according to brands and alphabetical order but that proved to be rather tedious and took too much time. So I ended up lining them in brands only. And I am not done yet as I got distracted with swatching some pretties like the following swatches of Comfortably Numb from Different Dimension. Haha!

Comfortably Numb is a gorgeous glitter topper in a clear base with bright yellow and neon pink square and hex glitters in assorted sizes. The formula was a tad thick but I had no trouble getting the glitters on the nails. It dried fast too. I am showing it on top of three different base colours as I couldn’t decide on one. One of base colour was even Le Boyfriend’s choice. Haha.

One coat over two coats of Illamasqua Muse, a teal base. Topcoat was added.comfortablynumbcomfortablynumb2

One coat over two coats of Barry M Gelly Lychee, a beige base. Topcoat was added.comfortablynumb3comfortablynumb5

One coat over two coats of Barry M Gelly Papaya, a coral base. Topcoat was added.comfortablynumb6comfortablynumb8

I have always been a fan of Different Dimension since I tried the brand and this doesn’t disappoint as well. This looks so good on top of a wide range of base colours, the choices are endless. I can’t wait to get my hands on Different Dimension’s latest range!

Hope you have been enjoying this swatch as much as I do. If you like what you see and like to follow our blog you can do so via email at the right hand panel of our site or at our following social networks:

Heads Up 7up and Morning Sunshine by Lacquer Lust Swatch

I am very excited to show you two thermal polishes by Lacquer Lust today. Thermal polishes are just polishes that changes colour according to temperature if you do not know already. Prior to this I have not tried any thermal polishes but decided to get on board with all the rave about them and so glad I did. Painting these was so much fun and seeing it changed colour was rather interesting.

Heads Up 7up basically changes colour from yellow to green when warm to cold. There are also slight shimmer in the base which you can faintly see it in my photos. The formula was a little thick but still manageable and I used two coats and topcoat for my photos. Very bright and fun colour!

Morning Sunshine changes from peach to coral colour when warm to cold. The colour changing in this is more obvious than Heads Up 7up. I had fun painting this  because as I was painting it the colour started to change from peach to coral and then back to peach as it dried. Formula is great and I used two coats and topcoat for my photos.

I especially love Morning Sunshine because the colour change was the most obvious and the contrast was very pretty. I had so much fun with these thermals and definitely looking forward to try more.

You can purchase these from Lacquer Lust or Shoppe Eclecticco who actually just launched these colours today!
